Joan works with people to facilitate their personal and professional growth in the context of their life and career. She has influenced organisations to develop their people in terms of leadership, change and transition, performance management, talent identification and development and coaching. She is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and an experienced consultant working across a variety of sectors in the UK and Europe. Her approach is one of collaboration partnership with the client – seeking to work with them to develop effective outcomes.
Joan’s style is to work supportively and in collaboration. She works to raise awareness in order for the individual to make a choice. She takes an experiential approach to learning and development, using real situations in the present.
Joan started her own consultancy practice in 1990. Prior to working as a consultant, Joan worked for the Debenham Group, British Home Stores and the Midlands-based department store group, James Beattie. In addition to managing her own consultancy practice, identifying, designing, delivering and evaluating interventions within organisations, she has held interim roles in various large organisations.
She has trained at the Metanoia Institute and the Academy of Executive Coaching, specialising in Gestalt as a model for working with individuals and groups. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a Founding member of the Association of Business Psychologists and a Member of the Special Group of Coaching Psychology – British Psychological Society.
